We are recruiting a Senior Planner for a multidisciplinary consultancy that combines engineering and science to approach environmental issues holistically.

The Senior Planner will work as an integral member of the Planning team by aiding the expansion of the Planning business and working closely with fellow professionals. Working alongside the full range of technical disciplines FT offers on some of the largest and complex renewable energy, infrastructure, urban development and waste projects. The work will be challenging and varied, ranging from preparing and submitting planning applications to providing strategic level planning advice including and advising on consenting processes and strategies. For the right candidate there will also be opportunities to project manage a multi-disciplined team in the delivery of environmental reports an EIAR’s for renewable energy projects. This position offers exposure to the significantly expanding Irish renewable energy sector. FT have a broad spectrum of ongoing projects and can offer the successful candidate a clear path for career development.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree and/or Masters in Town Planning
  • Minimum of 7 years experience
  • Extensive town planning experience and expert knowledge of planning and environmental legislation
  • Corporate/Chartered Member of the IPI/RTPI
  • Experience of preparing and submitting planning applications, drafting reports, feasibility studies, masterplans and planning strategies for a wide range of projects
  • Experience of working with a range of client bodies including both private sector and public sector
  • Previous experience of having an active role in the delivery of varied environmental projects
  • Experience in overseeing, and/or project managing multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience of team working to support the delivery of projects
